Sugar B and Me

My Story

There is no such thing as limitations. Only modifications.

I only look at my diagnosis as a blessing, rather than a curse. When I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 14 years ago, I realized I couldn’t change what happened to me, but I could only change my mindset on my diabetes. I consider myself as a PROUD diabetic and wants to instill this message in others around me.

I’m currently at the University of Kentucky, where I’m pursuing my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. My goal in life is to use my PT education and previous experiences in the diabetes world to create an online support system that will help to empower and educate other fellow diabetics on how to take control of their diabetes.

I believe PT can be a crucial component in diabetes management and I’m determined to bring awareness through my online platform, Sugar B & Me. Through this site, I hope to spread the motto that living a life with diabetes only has modifications, NOT limitations.
